COMMITTED TO DEVELOPING JUNIOR AND YOUTH FOOTBALL

The borough’s leading representative side, the ‘Royals’ have been in existence since circa 1879.

The current senior team are members of the Southern League
Our club also has a proud recent history in youth football.  The club have established a strong youth team set up, capable of matching local pro-club sides and other leading non-league teams.

The club retained the prestigious Midland Floodlit Premier League champion’s title in 2005/06.

Some of our current first team squad have progressed through the youth team ranks to establish themselves as regulars and other former ‘Young Royals’ are now firmly established at Non league clubs throughout the Midlands area.

Introducing the Sutton Coldfield Town FC Youth Development Section

In 2005 the club announced the founding of a new junior football development initiative with the aspiration to develop junior sides from under 12 through to under 17 in order to feed our future youth teams and ultimately our senior side.

The club now provides new football opportunities for over 80 players and is developing links with local junior Sunday sides and schools with the aim of extending our range of teams in the future.

Sutton offer a route to the highest standards available to junior players outside the pro-clubs and academy arena.

Youth will therefore play a major role in the development of the club in the year’s ahead and offers opportunities to local talent.

In preparation for the 2006/07 season, Sutton Coldfield have established representative sides at Under 13/15/16 and 17. These sides will compete with the very best junior sides from across the Midlands.

Sutton will provide a high standard of coaching.

All coaches will have at least a minimum FA level one qualification.

This includes Child protection and First Aid certification and some of our coaches have already progressed and attained higher FA coaching badges.

We encourage our coaches to continue to develop and progress up the FA coaching ladder.

We also operate the FA code of conduct within our club.

Player’s health, safety and welfare is our top priority.

By working alongside existing local junior Sunday sides and developing links with local schools,  we wish to ensure that junior players can continue to enjoy and develop their football.

Suttons aim is to compliment existing talent, by providing a route to progress to a higher standard.

The teams play in the traditional SCTFC ‘Royal Blue’ colours and are kindly supported by our club sponsors.

Our sides play home fixtures locally on Saturdays kicking off between 11am and 1pm.

(Our Youth team play on Thursday evenings)

Fixtures, results, match reports and tables will be posted on this website and the teams are often featured in local newspapers including the
‘Sutton Observer’

We welcome involvement and support from, individuals, organisations  and local business to share our commitment to providing football development opportunities for the community of Sutton Coldfield and its surrounding areas.

Introducing the ‘Midland Junior Premier Football League’
